As part of our commitment to our clients and the communities we do business in Oltmans' HPB (High Performance Building) Program combines the talents of our experienced staff for early cost and benefit analysis to determine the best strategy to meet our client's business and environmental goals. Building green is about using less of our natural resources, such as water and raw materials, being energy efficient, reducing waste and caring for our environment for future generations. It means doing more with less to save money and increase investment in our economy to fuel innovation and sustainable practices.
The US Green Building Council reports that buildings in the US account for 39% of total energy consumption, 71% of electricity consumption, 12% of all water use and 39% of C02 emissions.
High performance buildings can reduce these impacts with energy and resource efficient elements that have direct, indirect and external benefits to the stakeholders, such as:
The objectives of a high performance building are to maximize operational energy savings, provide healthy interiors and limit the detrimental environmental impacts of a building's construction and operations.
