Purchased in 2015, the Olive Crest Academy’s newest location opened in Garden Grove with the campus’s ongoing renovation and operations being led by Principal and Director of Education, Robert Henning, Ed.D. The K-8 school currently services 75 students and up to 150 students after renovations are complete, living anywhere from San Juan Capistrano to Whittier and Compton.

Formerly a Korean-American Lutheran Church and Sunday school, Oltmans Construction Co. has been involved in the conversion of Olive Crest Academy’s newest campus since the property’s purchase. Since then, the Oltmans Foundation has been responsible for the renovation of two (2) buildings on the new campus as well as the addition of a new outdoor playground and concrete work in the parking lot. Oltmans’ drywall team also self-performed the demolition and construction of the entire basement and first floors of the school building transforming them into new classrooms and administrative offices.

Early on in the renovation process, a leak was identified in the basement and electrical room. To fix this, polyurethane resin was injected into the wall at high pressures, plugging up any areas where leakage might occur. This substantially reduced leaks in critical rooms but did not eliminate the problem. To stop the leaks, Oltmans recently oversaw the paving of the landscaping in front of the building to further act as a water mitigation barrier.

Until Fall of 2021, the chapel and parts of the primary building have continued to be used for church services as part of the agreement made with the previous owners of the property. Once vacated Olive Crest plans to convert the chapel into a multipurpose room for student assemblies.
