Toyota Logistics Services Vehicle Processing and Distribution Center (VDC)
Toyota recognized the value of Oltmans throughout the planning and implementation of this project as a major project team contributor, business partner and builder of our most important Port Vehicle Distribution Center in our North American operations. They truly had their customer success and safety as their highest priorities as was evident by their contribution in the early stages of planning and the building of the project while our operations continued uninterrupted at the site surrounding the project construction. Toyota goals for the project became Oltmans’ goals for the project and they provided innovative construction solutions and value engineering that met and often exceeded our expectations. Their project team was made up of individuals that each contributed with their full commitment to the great success of the project. Toyota is very selective in the process to find the right business partners for our projects and we truly did in selecting Oltmans construction.
During preconstruction they presented insightful value engineering opportunities. In construction they offered practical and cost-effective solutions to any construction issues when they arose. Throughout construction, they dealt with the effects of COVID and supply chain issues while keeping the project on time and on budget.

From their leadership to their journeymen, and all roles in between, I have found Oltmans people to be very high-integrity, concerned about my project, and very competent and capable. They are extremely professional, easy to work with, and excellent communicators. Oltmans seemed to want to complete the project with nearly as much excellence as I did, as the owner. I have truly enjoyed working with them on five (5) projects of similar size and value over the last ten (10) years. I trust them, I have confidence in them, and I like them. I can't recommend Oltmans highly enough--they are one of my go-to contractors anywhere in California or the West.
Children's Institute, Inc. (CII) Watts Campus
It is so fitting that we round out this year with the milestone that is the CII Certificate of Occupancy in Watts. It is because of Oltmans Construction Co., along with Leonard Madson's leadership, that we now have a long held dream realized. The Board of Trustees first conceived of this project over twelve years ago. I have been a part of the Committee for ten years and chaired it for five. There is no one other than Oltmans that Leonard and I considered working with; a choice strongly supported by my husband, Paul Keller. I could not imagine a Frank Gehry project executed so professionally and efficiently. I know it wasn’t always easy, but none of you ever showed it. Your work on this project has been nothing short of extraordinary and I will be forever indebted to you all, and grateful for having shared this journey with you.
Magnolia Science Academy 1
As the principal of Magnolia Science Academy 1, when our school, the place where our middle and high school students learn and grow, is recognized as a pillar for our community, that is the best honor. As I look at the evolution of our campus I think about where we started, with just one building and dreamt of the day that we could build a state-of-the-art facility for our students. Little did we know that all this dreaming would become a reality in 2019 when we opened the doors to our brand new high school building. We had the amazing privilege of working with Franco Architects and Oltmans Construction Co. to build our dream school. They created a space where our students can learn and thrive. I can talk about how amazing it was working with the Oltmans team all day, instead, I will just say that they have become a part of our Magnolia family. They took our vision and made it ten times better than what we could have ever imagined. Every door, tile, and color selection was purposefully designed to foster creativity. Now our students thrive within those walls. I am beyond grateful to be sharing this award and recognition with Oltmans and thank you for making the MSA1 warriors dreams come true. We couldn’t have done it without you guys.
Providence St. Joseph Health, Little Company of Mary, Breeze – Glass Building Addition & Coastal Orthopedics Tenant Improvement
The innovative therapy pool created design challenges, but the project team was able to overcome it. The project broke ground in January 2020 and encountered another trial; the city experienced a cyber-attack resulting in cancellations of all inspections, and deliverable of materials. The project and team were able to recover time loss, and every team member went beyond their contractual responsibilities to get the project back on track. This strong team effort allowed the project to open to the public on August 3.
KPAC Burtis Cold Storage
Working with Oltmans was truly a great experience. Every person, from the top of the organization to the bottom, was very professional. I was always kept informed of the status of the project and was always brought in to discuss the inevitable challenges. Mark Schlichting and Darin Lee did a fantastic job, but I believe it was Debbie Berg who kept the wheels on the cart. Much thanks to all the team!
Goodman Commerce Center Eastvale
Having had the opportunity to work with Oltmans Construction Co. on two separate Amazon projects has given me ample insight into their ability to complete expansive, complex projects on a heightened timeline where attention to detail is crucial and there is little to no room for error. They have proven their ability on one of our largest Amazon Robotics (AR) buildings to date, and are currently proving themselves on a Cross‐Dock (IXD) building in Fontana, CA. The former, a 1.1-million-square-foot footprint (two- and four-level mezzanines with over 2.7-million-square-feet of usable floor space), offered a complex building process with extensive Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Amazon Robots throughout all four levels of mezzanine. The latter is a single-level, 615,000-square-foot project with multiple MHE levels and complex conveyor processes. Both projects required an accelerated schedule coordinated among various different Amazon groups, depending on their ability to meet dates, in order to accomplish on‐time operational start dates.
ArtCenter College of Design – 6th Floor Tenant Improvements
Oltmans Construction Company is “Class A” commercial contractor. The organization between the Superintendent, Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager is structured in such a way that no detail is missed. Anjana Bhowmik and her team communicated throughout the entire job and promptly responded to any questions or concerns. It was a pleasure to work with such a professional, knowledgeable, and qualified contractor. I would recommend Oltmans for any commercial construction project.
Stater Bros. Master Plan & Campus Development
Your team did a reputable job. Allen was very communicative and kept me informed of what he needed and how the project was progressing. I just want you and Joe [Pike] to know how well the job was performed from the removal to the pouring process. I appreciate all of your team's hard work and diligence.
Bucky Oltmans - On behalf of myself and the Elder Board, I wanted to personally thank you for all you have done in the build out of this beautiful campus God has given us. We know that no construction project goes without is challenges, and this one was no exception. Yet, you personally chose a highly professional team made up of Ed, Sal, Brian and Mike, that was able to execute the construction of our Youth Building, lake and onsite improvements in such a way we are very proud of. With permits, weather delays and inspector issues, it was a real accomplishment for your team to deliver this finished product to us when you did. You did an amazing job of overcoming these obstacles. In addition, we were recently made aware that your company passed on to the church a cost savings of $244,000. This is truly an amazing gift which allows us to complete the project and cover all of our costs. We so appreciate your commitment to our church, your love for it, and your generous heart in giving back to Mariners this very substantial savings. We realize without your generous heart and careful attention to purchasing and costs by your staff, this would not have been possible.
