March 2, 2022 – Oltmans Construction Co. announces its 90th year in business with much to celebrate and be grateful for. This milestone is a salute to you; our trusted partners, cherished community, and exceptional team.
When founder Joseph Overwin Oltmans began a humble construction service in Downtown Los Angeles 90 years ago, it’s unlikely that he imagined a future quite like ours— marked by the challenges and recovery of a pandemic. Overall, however, an exciting future awaits us with new frontiers in technology, sustainability, and diversity. Growing to become a $1-billion business and certified Great Place to Work, Oltmans Construction has adapted, leaned into challenges, and stayed true to our core values which have been carried on through three generations of Oltmans leadership. Though much has changed since the company opened its doors in 1932, our commitment to our founding mission endures.
Oltmans Construction’s mission to take care of its community is the common bond that links the company together. We are privileged to be part of a diverse and thriving community inclusive of clients, subcontractors, and other industry partners who share our passion and value of our guiding principles of integrity, honesty, and hard work.
As we reflect on 90 years, we endeavor to highlight the united, coordinated efforts of our business partners in building up our communities. Through the charitable work that we continue to do together—building homes and facilities throughout Southern California for organizations such as Orange County Rescue Mission and Olive Crest—thousands of veterans and families have found support and nourishment. We remain dedicated to doing the right thing; strengthening and sustaining our local communities. In doing so, Oltmans Construction works hard to preserve our reputation as an integrity-driven builder.
Founded on trust achieved through transparency, open communication, and honest feedback, Oltmans Construction fosters an environment that honors and celebrates those who came before us. We aim to encourage emerging leaders who align with our established traditions and values and desire to make a life here. Recognizing the exceptional contributions of over 500 construction experts, we foresee more exciting opportunities as we continue to push the company’s growth, improve upon already established markets including commercial and industrial construction, and further expand our reach into markets such as education, healthcare, affordable housing, and renewable energy.
Making it to 90 years means living up to our values of integrity, honesty, and hard work every day.
