C.R. Laurence Breaks Ground on New 310,000 Manufacturing Facility in Vernon, CA

VERNON, CA – Oltmans Construction Co. recently broke ground for a new 310,000 square foot manufacturing build-to-suit being constructed for the C.R. Laurence Co. in Vernon, California. The project, located on 55th Street, is situated on an over eleven-acre site, and is due for completion in February of 2011.

Oltmans Construction Co. previously completed a 65,000 square foot facility at nearby 2450 Vernon Avenue for the C.R. Laurence Co., which is now fully-operational. Following Oltmans’ construction of the new manufacturing facility, C.R. Laurence Co. will occupy a total of nearly 1,000,000 square feet of office, distribution and manufacturing operations within the City limits.

The C.R. Laurence Co. is a leading manufacturer and global supplier to the glazing, railing, architectural, construction and automotive industries offering more than 50,000 products worldwide.

The new 310,000 square foot warehouse facility for C.R. Laurence Co. will feature a 33’ clear building height utilizing the “moment frame” design, which increases the functionality of the building. Also included will be a 4,000 amp electrical service, ventilation systems with one air change per hour, and extensive sewer drainage systems throughout the building. To complete their upscale look, a total 50,000 square feet of tenant improvements will incorporate the extensive use of high-end ornamental stainless further enhanced by specialty architectural glass throughout this exciting new facility.

The project architect is RGA Architectural Design Group of Irvine, California, who is also credited with the design of the recently completed Vernon Avenue facility for the C.R. Laurence Co.
