YOUR HELP IS NEEDED ON THEDOUBLE R RANCH KITCHEN RENOVATION

Oltmans Construction Co. and Orange County Rescue Mission are asking for contributions from our subcontractor partners for the Double R Ranch Kitchen and Dining Room rehabilitation project in Silverado, CA.

Project Commenced: February 2, 2022

An Invitation from Joe Oltmans II

Chairman emeritus of Oltmans Companies and OCRM board member

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the OCRM Double R Ranch project. Over the last 20 years, Oltmans Construction Co. has remained a strong sponsor of this organization and its mission to end homelessness, one life at a time. With the tremendous help of our subcontractor partners, we constructed the Village of Hope in 2008 and the Tustin Veterans Outpost in 2020. Thousands of homeless veterans and families have since been housed and nourished through these facilities, because of your support and generosity.

When we were offered the opportunity to assist with re-envisioning Double R Ranch, we accepted with the same drive to better those in our community. I hope that you will consider joining us.

About the Project: Recently acquired by OCRM, Double R Ranch (previously St. Michael’s Abbey) is a sprawling, 33-acre campus that has been used for education, housing, and faith-based activities in Silverado Canyon since 1961.

Oltmans’ current scope includes the gut and remodel of a 5,378-square-foot, industrial-grade kitchen and dining room area that will, one day, be available to those needing a safe place to heal, learn, and start a new life. Through OCRM, Double R Ranch will serve homeless men, women, children, and veterans through a discipleship program with farming and animal husbandry education.

Oltmans Construction will be personally contributing to this project – our donated services will include project management and general labor. We urge you to join us and lend your assistance and expertise to this great cause.

 The Double R Ranch Story

Orange County Rescue Mission’s Double R Ranch program originated in North San Diego County in 2005 and is being relocated to Orange County, CA. Upon completing extensive renovations, the updated, expanded facility will include an equestrian therapy program, urban farming operation, on-site residential program for women and children, alumni housing opportunities, and a specialized program for senior citizens.

Formerly St. Michael’s Abbey, the campus encompasses 141 beds and over 60,000 square feet of residences and facilities previously used by the Norbertine Fathers of Orange as an abbey, seminary, and boarding school. To OCRM, the Abbey property represents something that is far greater than just land. It represents a very sacred place that has been prayed over, cared for, and grown over the last 60 years.

OCRM is 100% privately funded, accepts no government funding, and operates debt-free. Therefore, they rely solely on the community for support. They provide a hand-up out of homelessness and help transition individuals and families into financial self-sufficiency with full-time employment. We hope you will join us in our efforts to transform the new Double R Ranch kitchen into a refuge for those we serve.
