Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier, CA Repeats Among Nation’s Elite List of ‘Top 400 Contractors’

WHITTIER, CA –Joining elite company among the nation’s commercial general contractors that registered aggregate contracting revenue which rose 11.2 percent in 2008, according to ENGINEERING NEWS RECORD magazine, Oltmans Construction Co. has once again been ranked among the “Top 400 Contractors” in the U.S. by ENR.

In announcing the nation’s top general contractors for 2009, ENR stated: “With the economy in recession and the market in decline, many large contractors are thankful that 2008 was booming, giving them one last chance to build backlogs. The ENR Top 400 Contractors garnered $338.38 billion in contracting revenue in 2008, up from $304.36 billion that the Top 400 took in during 2007.”

ENR reported that Oltmans Construction Co, which has achieved inclusion on the list for virtually all of the last decade, checked in at number 273 among the Top 400 Contractors. Based on the data, Oltmans also ranked twelfth on the total list among contractors based in Southern California.

Among major projects completed by Oltmans during 2008 were the Stater Bros. Dry Goods building in San Bernardino, and the Corona Summit office complex in Corona, CA. Oltmans is currently building one of the largest speculative industrial projects of its kind in the L.A. Metro area – the 400,000 square foot Randolph Business Center in City of Commerce for developer Western Realco.
