Oltmans Ranked Among State’s Top Contractors; Leading Industry Medium Lists Company Number 20

WHITTIER, CA – For the second consecutive year, Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier, CA has been ranked among the top eschelon general contractors in California, according to CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTION magazine, logging in at number 20 on the list of the top 65 firms.

Oltmans garnered the ranking based on 2006 revenue of $317 million, up from $290 million in 2005 when the company was also listed at number 20 on the list.

While Oltmans registered 20th ranking statewide, its volume last year placed it at number nine among Southern California-based contractors on the list, according to CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTION data.

Additionally, the company ranked number nine statewide in office construction revenue at $123.6 million, and number eight in retail construction revenue at $82.4 million. The balance of the company’s construction activity – or some $90 million – is represented by industrial projects, which were not broken out as a category.

CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTION cited the $180 million Stater Bros. corporate office/distribution center, currently being built by Oltmans in San Bernardino, as the company’s top project to break ground in 2006.

A publication of McGraw-Hill, CALIFORNIA CONSTRUCTION covers a broad range of topics blanketing the commercial, industrial and retail general contracting field. This includes technology, transactions, transportation, legislative issues, associations, development, contractors, groundbreakings and completions, “building green”, and management.

In business for over 75 years, Oltmans Construction Co. is ranked among the top 10 commercial and industrial general contractors based in Los Angeles County, and was recently ranked among the nation’s leading builders of distribution facilities by ENGINEERING NEWS-RECORD magazine. The company has offices in Whittier, CA and Ventura County, CA.
