Old Ranch Country Club Renovation

Part of a multi-million dollar refresh project, Oltmans Special Projects Division contributed to the remodel of the existing bar, patio, and main dining room at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. The updated space includes an upscale bar area, elevated dining experience, and a kids-only space with toys, games media consoles for family use.

The Old Ranch Country Club is a multi-phased revitalization of a 1960s country club inclusive of a golf course and several events and dining spaces. The Club provides multi-purpose areas for members and their families to host and attend social events, celebrations, and a variety of family activities. Another unique feature of the revitalization is the inclusion of family-friendly dining and childcare spaces. The atmosphere of The Old Ranch Country Club is presented in a distinctive and historic Southern California Style of Western hospitality which inspired the interior to remodel with names such as Homestead, Saloon 67, Wrangler Room, Wine Parlor, and Speakeasy.

Several previously unidentified structural constraints were also discovered during construction. This included a structural metal brace conflict in the center of the dining area. In order to confront this challenge, the metal bracing was aesthetically altered to seamlessly flow into the metal screen architectural feature by a local artist. Similarly, to maintain the visual vernacular of the space, several exposed wood columns and finishes were matched and replaced or restored throughout the club.

Accessibility and Title 24 Upgrades

As part of the renovation, accessibility, and title 24 upgrades were incorporated to meet local and state compliance.

  • Modification of a ramp
  • Structural upgrades to meet the open space concept for the renovation
  • California artists were comissioned for a custom firepit featured in the patio and the fireplace and iron screen detailing in the dining area
