
Salvation Army Center for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI)
Oltmans Construction is delivering the Salvation Army Center for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI), a new 29,000-square-foot, two-story concrete tilt-up facility located within the 14-acre Center of Hope campus in Anaheim, California. The project is the third phase of the Center of Hope development following approximately one year of collaborative preconstruction services, the project advanced into construction under a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) delivery approach.
The facility includes:
- 5,000 s.f. wellness center shell
- two-story public lobby with elevator and monumental stair
- 4,000 s.f. multipurpose room with warming kitchen
- administrative offices, case management suites, meeting spaces, and research facilities
Site Development
Encompasses approximately 88 parking stalls, including accessible and EV parking, new road access, utility infrastructure, stormwater systems, site lighting, landscape and irrigation improvements, and a pedestrian promenade connecting the new building to the existing Center of Hope Apartments. The fully sprinklered Type III-B structure is designed to support long-term community services, research, and innovation initiatives.
