Advanced Food Manufacturing Facility Takes Shape in the High Desert
Underway is American Jerky Company’s new advanced food manufacturing facility in Victorville, California—an exciting project designed to support large-scale, high-efficiency pet food processing operations.

With nearly one year of comprehensive preconstruction and budgetary services, Oltmans worked closely with American Jerky Company, HPA, Inc., and key subcontractors to lay a strong foundation for success. The preconstruction phase focused on detailed budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, and early coordination, all while navigating the permitting process focused on operational performance and cost certainty.
Slated for completion in 2026, the build-to-suit, climate-controlled facility layout includes an oven room, expansive freezer space, dry material storage, weighing and equalizing rooms, and dedicated areas for boxing and packaging—ensuring a seamless flow from processing through distribution.

The facility incorporates several features:
- Wastewater treatment system for industrial waste, boilers for steam into ovens, and compressed air system
- Customized stainless steel floor drains and grates systems spanning throughout the manufacturing areas
- Integration of specialized manufacturing equipment with MEP infrastructure systems accounting for future manufacturing needs
- Overhead cranes integrated into the warehouse structure above the large scale oven
- Approximately 75,000 s.f. of cooler/freezer space, 60,000 s.f. of processing lines/packaging areas, and 50,000 s.f. of dry storage-distribution warehouse space.
With a strong emphasis on coordination and constructability from the earliest stages, Oltmans is helping deliver a facility that is built to adapt and perform for years to come.
